The mission to Kakuma was a life-changing event in most if not all our lives. A total number of 136 people came to the Lord, and 700 were fed. Among the Turkana people, we noted an outstanding need for discipleship because most of the surrounding villages have little information about salvation and that is the end. We were able to screen the Jesus film in three different locations and all all large turnout and among the 136, 6 gave their life to Christ after watching the movie.
We visited 4 villages: Lopur, Lochereng'ereng'o, Loreng and Sagot, where we gave food and clothes donations. It tore at our hearts to see very poor people worshiping God not because they expected anything, but because He is God. We also visited the Sudanese church at the Kakuma refugee camp, and preached in 30 churches on Sunday. We held a football tournament that was geared towards winning souls as opposed to the matches and 2 people came to the Lord. On the last day we went into a piece of land that was donated to ACMI for further development and prayed in it, especially on receiving news of threat of it being grabbed. Before the end of year, the land needs to have some building put up and of importance a strong perimeter fence since the fence put up has been destroyed three times.
We thank all who played a part in the mission through giving, prayers and actual participation in the mission. Over 2000Kms were covered by the missioners. May our Lord bless you abundantly.
